I stayed here in January 2026 and booked the most expensive room - the Founder's Room because it came with a kitchenette and living room, but it was the worst overnight stay experience I've ever had. The hotel hardly qualifies as a hotel, it's more like a hostel. The service was non-existent, there's no food in the hotel other than orange juice and yogurt, the windows are thin so you can hear all the shouting outside, the rooms had broken furniture, and drains wouldn't drain, the kitchenette was awful and the cabinets were worn down and some were broken. In the early afternoon around 2 PM, I asked the handyman to come fix the drain in our shower so that the water would drain and when he left our room, he left my door wide open. I came back at 8:30 PM and my door was wide open. I would NEVER stay here again.

I joined as a fall/winter membership and it’s been a great decision. Plentiful squash courts, great programming, and friendly vibes make the RCoP a true Philly institution.

Beautiful history, lovely ambiance. It is a private club, with generous reciprocity. Our children (now adults) learned squash and court tennis from ages 6 and up. The pros are world class, the court facilities are five star. It is - after all - an athletic club, situated in an architecturally historic building. Managing expectations, this is not a Michelin dining facility - but it is a place where premium world class level tennis is taught, played and promulgated. The premises, the building and the many club events reflect the care and thought of its intention.

Fantastic accommodations with spacious rooms, hospitable staff, a lovely downstairs pub & grille, breakfast and lunch, and great meeting rooms. The bed was very comfortable, and I really enjoyed the historical and picturesque ambiance. I would love to come back. This is not the most expensive club I have ever stayed at, but it is definitely my favorite so far. I especially enjoyed the walk-in closet.

One of our favorite places to photograph stunning couples that get married there. Just this past December we had the chance to capture the love of two incredible people that got married at the Racquet Club.
